  • What is the best vlogging camera for 2018? We look at everything from a phone up to the Canon 5D Mark IV to help you decide what is the best camera for starting your vlog.Check out the gear below.Canon 800D/T7I in US - http://amzn.to/2ieTRz5Canon 800D/T7I in UK - http://amzn.to/2xy3hfKCanon 5D Mark IV in US - http://amzn.to/2gM1EEfCanon 5D Mark IV in UK - http://amzn.to/2yV4iQcRode Filmmaker Kit in US - http://amzn.to/2iHsaCSRode Filmmaker Kit in US - http://amzn.to/2zP5W5pFollow First Man Photography for the latest updates:Instagram - http://instagram.com/adamkarnaczGet the eBook - https://www.firstmanphotography.com/e...In this video we’re going to look at several cameras and decide which is the best for vlogging.First we need to decide what we are going to shoot and the level of production quality required. I am a photographer so I feel an extra level of pressure to get high quality images but it’s absolutely not required. The story you tell is absolutely the most important thing……and you, of course…we need to give our audience a reason to watch, and provide them value. Once we have that nailed we need to start looking at the gear. At the moment there really isn’t a perfect vlogging camera. There isn’t a camera out there that strikes the right balance between image quality, features, focusing and weight.Budget also comes into it so we’re gonna take a look at a few cameras and discuss the pro and cons of using them for vlogging.4K is not really required for vlogging. When you look at the Youtube analytics a growing majority of people are watching content on their phones and tablets and they are far from having 4K screens. 1080p is the sweet spot at the moment and it makes post processing easier and quicker and storage is much less of an issue. The cameras we discuss in the video are:A phoneCompact cameras like the Sony RX100v and Canon G7XA GoProAn Entry level DSLR like the Canon 800DA top of the range camera like the Canon 5D Mark IV. At the moment I am using all of these for my vlogging in addition to the drone. It makes shooting very complex especially when I am trying to capture some nice landscape photographs at the same time. It’s more than reasonable to vlog with just one of these solutions but the perfect vlogging camera really doesn’t exist yet.If you are going to start a vlog then good luck. Film your first video and upload it and forget about it. Then do that again and again and again.Stay to the end for a peek at my very first video.Out.

Great overview Adam, interesting to hear your thoughts on the different types of cameras for vlogging. This is a subject I often revisit and question whether I should upgrade my own gear. Loved the flashback video at the end...priceless! 👍🏻

This video looks such good quality. I use a 200d/SL2 at the moment, but I'm thinking of upgrading. Do you think the EOS R would be a good upgrade choice? Like do you think I will get image quality as good as this from the EOS R?

Great Video, appreciate it... one question :-)i've always been filming at 25fps but at time i find that it restricts me when i want to have a slow mo while in post, is it advisable to always shoot at 60fps & edit the slow mo bits in post? Thanks

I don’t know anything about blogging, but I know even in horrendous weather you always put out good quality. Please can you answer a question for me: I know there is a difference, because YouTubers say so, but what is the difference between a video and a vlog? I know a vlog is a video blog, but Ive heard several YouTubers say things like "This video is more of a vlog." . I love the four years ago video at the end.

H Mark. A "blog" is simply short for "web log". A log is a form of journal, documenting something (as in Star Trek's "Captain's log, Stardate..."). If, instead of in writing, that log is a video, it becomes a "video web log" - or "Vlog" for short.A video is simply a film of anything - thus all vlogs are videos but not all videos are vlogs. Of course, as with any terms, people use and misuse and change them but those are, I believe, today's most accept...

Another Sunday day another First Man Photography video. Great video :-)800D vs 80D - would you say the 80D is worth the extra money? (probably a stupid question 😂)

Thanks buddy. If I could only have one camera id get the 80d. If it's a choice for an additional camera for vlogging then I'd get the 800d.
